EVERCLEAR FIELD-TRIALS COMMERCIAL-GRADE ELECTROLYZER
06.18.08
EverClear Field –Trial

Alameda, California, USA -- Applied Intellectual Capital (“AIC”) (AIM: AINC) is pleased to announce successful field trials of the commercial-grade (“2-G”) electrolyser  undertaken by its affiliate, EverClear Solutions, Inc.

Following a successful field trial of the 2-G unit in an acid rock drainage application in Montana, USA, the unit has been deployed in Mintek’s mine-process pilot facility in Johannesburg, SA, to support EverClear’s commercial build-up in Africa with customer demonstrations.

The unit is currently processing  20 tons of tailings from Weatherly NCSL’s Tsumeb site in Namibia, as a prelude to a Bankable Feasibility Study which will be undertaken on Weatherly’s 14 million ton Tsumeb site later this summer.

The stranded copper has been successfully leached from the tailings materials using a novel extraction process developed by AIC.  The metals are now being plated from the leach by the 2-G electrolyser, and product will emerge as refined LME grade materials.

EverClear Solutions, Inc. (“EverClear”) (www.everclear-inc.com) provides technology-enabled solutions to the mining industry. EverClear applies its unique, patent-protected capabilities, developed in partnership with AIC, to recover high value metals from mining operations where assets have been stranded due to the technological inefficiencies of historic mining practices, thereby dramatically improving project yield and life cycles, while creating significant profits for its customers.

EverClear is able to specialize in such secondary and tertiary recovery efforts by leveraging AIC’s expertise in leach chemistry and patent-protected, high-performance, electrochemical processes and technologies to cost-effectively generate high-grade, market-ready metals.
Don Jacobs, EverClear’s CEO, commented:

“We have successfully run commercial-grade, unit-scale trials in the field on both acid rock drainage and alkaline tailings applications.  We are now positioned to run these modular units as part of the Bankable Feasibility Study in Namibia.  In the meantime, a number of other tailings and acid rock drainage opportunities are being progressed within the sales pipeline”.
