TECHNICIAN/ FABRICATOR/ FIELD OPERATOR

We have an opening for an experienced fabricator/plant operator. A multiskilled person is required to assist in the development and fabrication of innovative technology projects.

The position entails fabricating and operating pilot scale plants for demonstrating/proving electrochemical technologies developed in our in-house laboratory.

This is a hands-on position and applicants MUST be proficient in the use of all hand and power tools. The ability to understand and work from P+ID drawings, construct plant, and troubleshoot is a major part of this position. In addition, this position requires the know-how to operate pilot plants in the field. This will require working and living away from home for extended periods, sometimes in remote areas. Some overseas travel may be required, so a valid passport is required.

The position requires the applicant to be involved on a day-to-day basis with the fabrication of the pilot plants. The candidate should be skilled in taking the plants to various sites and commissioning them. The position requires the applicant to operate the plant, with assistance from chemical engineers, for a period of typically three months. The candidate must also be able to prove the ability to operate electrochemical pilot plants with limited backup, be innovative and safe in their approach to work. Troubleshooting on site would also be necessary from time to time.

Our plants are typically constructed using plastics and exotic metals. The successful applicant will be able to fabricate and install plastic piping/valves, install various sensors, fabricate steel mounting frames, and brackets. Basic welding skills are required. A prerequisite of this position is to have some chemical and electrical knowledge. Plc exposure will be highly regarded, as would engineer drafting experience.

Applicants without the ability to prove previous fabrication history will not be considered.

The workshop is located in Oakland, California.

This position is full-time. A dental, medical, and 401k plan is offered after qualifying.

This position is offered to highly skilled people and the remuneration will reflect their ability.

Reply with a detailed resume, including verifiable five years work experience, contactable references, and contact details. Email the information to admin@apicap.com.
